Reporting

Regular and rigorous assessment and monitoring of each student’s progress is a key feature of our approach to supporting student progression. We give students and their parents/carers regular constructive feedback about progress and information on how they can improve their future learning, and the school uses an assessment database to record student progress and set challenging targets.

Students are set challenging targets based on their GCSE performance when they enter the college and the team monitor progress against these targets. Students are also encouraged to become independent learners and are expected to monitor and evaluate their own progress against these grades. Students have regular one to one tutorials to discuss their progress and set new targets to stretch and challenge them or intervention targets and support to encourage them to stay on track where required. Reports are available for students and parents/carers where appropriate twice a year, around February half term and at the end of the academic year.  In addition to this, parents/carers and students are invited to discuss individual progress at a parents’ review day either face to face or over the phone/teams. We use a college management system to monitor attendance and punctuality and assess progress using Firefly and SIMS.  If you have any concerns regarding your son’s or daughter’s progress at any time during the academic year, please contact the form tutor directly.
