The quality of teaching and learning in the sixth form sports studies course is highly effective. Clear progress charts regarding academic, behavioural, and attendance monitoring are regularly shared with students and they work as a cohesive unit to support each other. Literacy, numeracy, science and personal, social and health skills were all fully and naturally integrated into the teaching observed during the inspection. Students can clearly articulate their good progress and how well the school’s links with the sports industry is preparing them for future employment.
Everton Football College encourages each student to flourish by meeting their individual needs, interests and abilities through a personalised curriculum. Successful applicants must demonstrate a positive attitude to learning. There are a great selection of educational pathways and enrichment opportunities to help get you ready for work or university. Many are unique to our Football College, due to the strong ties with the Everton Family. The curriculum is supported by a team of personal tutors and access to additional on-line learning and resources through our virtual learning platform Firefly. All our students have access to Office 365 and college email accounts.
In addition to our academic core subjects, students can access additional qualifications and experience should they choose to. Aside from playing football our students can study towards the FA Level 1 Football Coaching Award, Duke of Edinburgh, gain volunteer experience with Everton in the Community and undertake work experience coaching both home and abroad. Students on all courses will undertake meaningful work experience that prepares them for their future aspirations.
